Dave Grohl has admitted he still dreams about playing in Nirvana.
The Foo Fighters rocker - who was the drummer in the Smells Like Teen Spirit grunge icons until frontman Kurt Cobain s tragic death in 1994 - only ever plays the group s tracks live with former bandmates Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear and guest vocalists like Joan Jett, Sonic Youth s Kim Gordon and St. Vincent s Annie Clark.
He told Classic Rock magazine: I wouldn t feel comfortable singing a song that Kurt sang. I feel perfectly at home playing those songs on the drums. And I love playing them with Krist and Pat and another vocalist.

The Game of Thrones star - who is a keen bass player - is a huge fan of the Enter Sandman rockers and close friends to their current bassist, and he d love to pick up some tips.
He told Bass Guitar magazine: When s that guy going to teach me how to play bass? Ha ha! He s like my spirit animal, I love him. When I m with Robert it s like we both came out of the same cave. We re the spitting image, and I absolutely adore him and his son and his family, they re amazing.
The 41-year-old actor has also been inspired by Metallica s late bassist Cliff Burton.

Dermot Kennedy claims Ireland’s biggest album of 2020 with Without Fear. The singer-songwriter from Rathcoole’s debut album enjoyed an incredible 2020, ending the year as the country’s most physically purchased, downloaded and streamed album of the last 12 months, totalling 43.7k units.
Without Fear – released in October 2019 - spent the entirety of 2020 in the Official Irish Albums Chart Top 10, helping Dermot become the longest-running Number 1 debut album of the millennium, with 15 weeks in total at the top spot. He is also the first Irish soloist in modern chart history to claim the Official Irish Chart double. Without Fear finishes the year in pole position ahead of Lewis Capaldi’s Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent (2).

RANCHI: Fifty-six year old Rukmini Devi got a fresh lease of life after a team of specialised doctors on Saturday performed the first total hip replacement surgery at the Ranchi district hospital under Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana-Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY) as a part of the upgradation of cashless healthcare facilities at the hospital.
The surgery was performed by a team of doctors led by orthopaedic surgeon Dr Nitesh Priya along with other members, including Dr Abhishek, Dr Muzzamil, and Dr Prabhat.
Talking to TOI, Priya said, “The patient had already undergone a tumour surgery at CMC Vellore six months ago and wasn’t able to walk properly. As the patient came from a poor economic background, we decided to conduct her surgery under PM-JAY at the district hospital and it was done for the first time. The patient is currently stable and she will start walking from Sunday with support.”

The Weeknd takes pole position on Ireland’s Official Top 50 biggest songs of 2020 with Blinding Lights. First released at the end of 2019, Blinding Lights stormed to Number 1 on the Official Irish Singles Chart in January, claiming four non-consecutive weeks at the top. The track was the most downloaded and streamed single of 2020, totalling 159.5k units, including 17.3m streams, it spent a total of 51 weeks inside the Top 50.
The year’s longest-reigning Number 1 single Roses by Saint Jhn ranks at Number 2 - a new remix of the US rapper’s breakthrough song by Kazakh producer Imanbek saw it gain popularity on TikTok, resulting in eight consecutive weeks atop the Official Irish Singles Chart.
